Global streaming giant Netflix is coming up with the docu-series titled 'The Romantics', which will feature 35 leading voices of the Hindi-language film industry and dive into the history of Bollywood through the lens of the Yash Raj Films' impact over the past 50 years in making Bollywood globally known.

Sharing details on the collaboration, Monika Shergill, VP - Content, Netflix India said, "Fondly remembered as The King of Romance, Yash Chopra's films brought in a new wave of emotion, individualism and cultural change to Hindi cinema and helped turn one of the biggest film industries in the world into what it is today. In celebration of the iconic songs, stories and the nostalgia, we're partnering with the creative powerhouses, YRF and Smriti Mundra to bring The Romantics to our global audiences. The gripping documentary series is the real and definitive story of Yash Chopra and his son Aditya Chopra's journey to building a world class studio and will give our viewers a glimpse into the lives of one of the most influential families in Bollywood film history." The trailer of the project will be out on February 1.

It was Yash Chopra who redefined Indian cinema by spreading romance and love through his films. From Raj-Simran to Veer-Zaara, the late director had given iconic love stories to Hindi cinema in his career spanning six decades.

He died on October 21, 2012, just a month before the release of his last film, 'Jab Tak Hai Jaan'.

The limited series, which was co-directed by Prashant Nair and Randeep Jha, will begin streaming on Netflix's OTT service on January 13 of 2023. "Trial by Fire" is based on the sad incident from 1997, when a fire engulfed Delhi's Uphaar Cinema. Trial by Fire: The Tragic Tale of the Uphaar Fire Tragedy, written by Neelam and Shekhar Krishnamoorthy, is the source of inspiration for the project.

The show depicts the parents, Neelam and Shekhar Krishnamoorthy, who lost their two children in the fire, as they endured a terrible but resolute journey. The limited series will explore the various lives affected and devastated by the fire as well as their never-ending struggles to seek justice over a twenty-four-year period.

Prashant Nair, the show's creator and director, provided additional information "Neelam and Shekhar Krishnamoorthy serve as admirable models of the kind of tenacity and perseverance required to make even a small difference in this nation. It is genuinely horrifying what happened to them and how they were compelled to struggle for justice, and, regrettably, there are numerous other people in similar situations today.

We are appreciative of Netflix for being such brave collaborators in this project." The project also includes Rajshri Deshpande, Rajesh Tailang, Ashish Vidyarthi, Anupam Kher, Ratna Pathak, Shilpa Shukla, and Shardul Bharadwaj.

The costume design process for Season 3 of "Emily in Paris" began with a bang.

Or, more precisely, with bangs.

Lily Collins, who plays the title character in the Netflix dramedy, first experimented with fringe in her hair before it appeared on the show. Season 3 begins with Emily feeling manic and grabbing a pair of scissors, an ordeal that costume designer Marilyn Fitoussi found inspiring after the dilemmas created by the Season 2 finale.

“Everything starts with Lily’s bangs. She sent me a picture, and suddenly, it reminded me of French icons of the ’60s,” Fitoussi says. “New wave movies. You have Jean-Luc Godard, you have Brigitte Bardot, you have Jane Birkin — all these delicate, graceful silhouettes.” I said, ‘Jesus, she looks like Françoise Hardy!’ So the ’60s is the starting point for the design. We’re playing a Parisian game; it’s time for her to embrace the French culture.”

Fitoussi also noted the character development mirrored in Season 3's costumes: "Emily starts dressing a little like Sylvie [her boss, played by Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu]. I played a mirror game with them. They have a love-hate relationship, so Sylvie is wearing more colour and Emily is wearing high-waisted and wide trousers that she didn't have before."

Fitoussi was able to pay tribute to a real-life fashion designer: Stéphane Rolland, who has offered his work to "Emily in Paris" since Season 1 and is the inspiration for Pierre's designs throughout the show, with all of the looks at the event honouring Pierre Cadault (Jean-Christophe Bouvet) in Episode 2. Many of the outfits in this scene are Rolland pieces from various stages of his career, and Rolland himself appears in a cameo.

Emily, on the other hand, wears a Dolce & Gabbana jacket with dramatic zebra-patterned wings. “I noticed this piece when I went to Milan, to a runway show. I was thinking of this jacket for Mindy [Ashley Park] at the beginning,” Fitoussi says. “But when I received the script and saw the tribute to Pierre Cadult, and of course Stéphane Rolland, I decided to use it for Emily.”
