Dhamaal 4 Enters ₹100 Crore Club: Indra Kumar Says Riteish Deshmukh Is the Heart of the Hit Comedy Franchise

For director Indra Kumar, however, the success of Dhamaal 4 is about more than another box-office milestone. It also celebrates the contribution of an actor who has become synonymous with the franchise's unique brand of humour, Riteish Deshmukh.

Having collaborated with Riteish across eight films, Indra Kumar believes the actor's importance to the Dhamaal universe goes far beyond his ability to deliver a punchline. "Riteish is integral to this franchise. Even he knows that," the filmmaker has said, highlighting the deep creative association they have built over the years.

Since the original Dhamaal arrived in 2007, Riteish has remained one of the franchise's most recognisable faces. His distinctive comic timing, spontaneous performances and infectious energy have consistently added to the chaos and entertainment that audiences expect from the series. In Dhamaal 4, his screen presence has once again emerged as one of the key talking points among viewers.

The actor's journey with Indra Kumar also reflects a professional relationship that has evolved over nearly two decades. Across eight collaborations, the filmmaker has witnessed Riteish transform from a promising young performer into one of Bollywood's most reliable entertainers. His instinctive understanding of comic rhythm, combined with his ability to bring freshness to familiar situations, has made him a natural fit for the Dhamaal world.

The ₹100 crore success of Dhamaal 4 arrives during an exciting and diverse phase of Riteish Deshmukh's career. The actor recently stepped into the director's chair while also leading the historical epic Raja Shivaji, before returning to mainstream comedy with Dhamaal 4. He is also associated with Netflix's Lock Upp 2.0, showcasing his versatility across cinema, direction and the streaming space.

For Indra Kumar, the situation is quite simple. While numerous actors are linked to successful franchises, only a limited number become integral to their essence. After collaborating on eight films and achieving another ₹100 crore at the box office, Riteish Deshmukh's central role in the Dhamaal franchise seems more secure than ever.

Operation Safed Sagar Trailer Review: Inside Netflix’s Untold Story of the Indian Air Force’s Kargil Mission

Centred on the Indian Air Force’s historic Operation Safed Sagar and the brave air warriors of the Golden Arrows Squadron, the series looks beyond the familiar battlefield narrative to spotlight the extraordinary role played by the IAF during the conflict.

The trailer immediately creates an atmosphere of urgency, duty and sacrifice. Siddharth leads the ensemble, while Jimmy Shergill, Abhay Verma, Dia Mirza, Prajakta Koli, Adil Hussain, Mihir Ahuja, Taaruk Raina, Arnav Bhasin and Amrita Bagchi feature in pivotal roles. The combination of experienced performers and younger faces gives the series an ensemble-driven appeal, particularly as the story explores the pressure faced by young air warriors during one of India's most challenging military operations.

One of the most emotionally significant aspects of Operation Safed Sagar is its connection to real people and real events. Siddharth portrays Squadron Leader Ajay Ahuja, whose story remains one of the most poignant chapters associated with the Kargil conflict. At the trailer launch, Ahuja’s wife, Alka Ahuja, was present, making the moment particularly emotional for the actor and the team. Siddharth reportedly became visibly emotional during the interaction, underlining the responsibility that comes with portraying a real-life military hero.

The series is directed by Oni Sen and created by Abhijeet Singh Parmar and Kushal Srivastava, with Sanjay Routray, Sarita Patil and Mehboob Pal Singh Brar serving as producers. The makers have also undertaken extensive research and consulted Indian Air Force veterans, while filming across operational IAF bases and using access to real aircraft and infrastructure to add authenticity to the visual world.

What makes the Operation Safed Sagar trailer stand out is its promise to tell a military story through the people behind the mission. Rather than relying only on spectacle, the trailer hints at the fear, responsibility, camaraderie and emotional cost of warfare. The high-altitude setting further adds to the tension, reminding viewers that the IAF's mission unfolded in some of the world's most demanding combat conditions.

Visually, the trailer appears designed for a cinematic experience, with aircraft, aerial combat and operational sequences creating a strong sense of scale. At the same time, the presence of real-life heroes and their families at the trailer launch adds another layer of emotional credibility to the project.

With Operation Safed Sagar, Netflix appears to be attempting something more than another patriotic war drama. The series seeks to revisit an important chapter of the Kargil War through the eyes of the Indian Air Force and honour the men and women whose courage helped shape the outcome of the conflict.

Trailer Verdict: Powerful, emotionally charged and technically ambitious, the Operation Safed Sagar trailer creates genuine curiosity. With Siddharth leading the story of Squadron Leader Ajay Ahuja and a strong supporting cast, the series could emerge as a compelling tribute to the Indian Air Force and the unsung heroes of the Kargil War.

Operation Safed Sagar is directed by Oni Sen and is set to premiere on Netflix on August 7, 2026.
