Vedika Pinto is receiving appreciation for her portrayal of Sudha in Musafir Cafe, a role that has added another distinctive chapter to her growing journey in Hindi cinema. Known for approaching varied characters with sincerity, the actor says the film arrived at a moment when she was questioning her own place in the industry.

For Vedika, Musafir Cafe came together unexpectedly. She was promoting Nishaanchi, directed by Anurag Kashyap, when she received a call to audition for what she was told was a love story. “Musafir Cafe happened very fast for me. I was in the middle of promoting Nishaanchi when I got a call to audition for a love story, which turned out to be Musafir Cafe. I went for a couple of rounds, but I didn’t do well initially because my mind was too preoccupied with Nishaanchi,” Vedika revealed.
The turning point came when casting director Karan Mally saw her potential for Sudha and encouraged the makers to give her another opportunity. Vedika eventually received the call confirming that she had landed the role. Looking back, she describes the moment as something close to divine intervention. “I honestly believe it was divine intervention because up until then, I was questioning myself and having existential moments about my place in the industry and whether I was doing the right thing or deluding myself,” she said. Taking on Sudha also helped Vedika shift her focus back to what she enjoys most about acting, the process of creating a character. “The good thing is that I jumped into Musafir Cafe, and I realised that the most exciting part of the job is actually doing the job. I was immediately distracted and my spirits were high because I was back to building a character,” she added.
The appreciation for her performance as Sudha has now given Vedika further momentum as she moves into her next phase. Her upcoming projects include Musafir Cafe 2 and a Dharma production alongside Lakshya, directed by Prosit Roy.
For Vedika Pinto, the journey from one project to another appears to be as unpredictable as the characters she chooses,and Musafir Cafe arrived at precisely the moment she needed to rediscover the joy of acting.
