Vikrant Massey Reveals Why Rajkumar Hirani’s Villains Are Unlike Any Other Ahead of Pritam and Pedro Release

As anticipation builds for the premiere of Pritam and Pedro, actor Vikrant Massey has shared what he believes makes filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani one of the most distinctive storytellers in Indian cinema. The upcoming cybercrime comedy-drama, set to premiere exclusively on JioHotstar on July 3, promises to combine mystery, humour, and emotional depth in a way that has become synonymous with Hirani’s storytelling.

Created in collaboration with acclaimed filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani, Pritam and Pedro follows an unlikely duo as they find themselves solving a string of intriguing cybercrime cases. While the series explores suspense and comedy, it also aims to deliver meaningful human stories beneath the entertainment.

Speaking about his experience of working on the project, Vikrant Massey highlighted the filmmaker’s unique approach to conflict and character development.

“In Rajkumar Hirani’s films, the villain is never a person; it is always the situation. You can never truly hate the villain in his films,” Massey said.

The actor further explained that Hirani’s narratives often avoid portraying characters as purely good or evil. Instead, they focus on how circumstances, emotional struggles, and difficult situations influence people's decisions. According to Massey, individuals are not always inherently wrong, but are sometimes driven by helplessness or challenging realities that force them into unexpected choices.

This perspective has long been considered one of Rajkumar Hirani’s signature strengths. Rather than relying on conventional antagonists, his stories explore empathy, human relationships, and the emotional complexities that shape every character. It is this layered storytelling that has resonated with audiences across generations.

With Pritam and Pedro, viewers can expect a fresh blend of cybercrime, mystery, and comedy, while retaining the emotional core that Hirani’s creative collaborations are known for. The series is expected to offer thrilling investigations alongside heartfelt moments, making it more than just a conventional crime drama.

As the countdown to its digital debut continues, excitement surrounding Pritam and Pedro continues to grow. Fans eager to witness the chemistry between the lead characters and uncover the mysteries behind each cybercrime case won't have to wait much longer.

Pritam and Pedro premieres exclusively on JioHotstar on July 3, bringing together suspense, humour, and heartfelt storytelling in what promises to be one of the platform’s most anticipated original releases.
