After the thrilling success of Season 1, Hyundai Spotlight returns with Season 2 on September 4, 2023. Following the success of Season 2's first song, "Jhoome Re" by Benny Dayal ft. Aanchal Tyagi, Hyundai Spotlight is overjoyed with the response to its second song, "Baanwre," which gained 1.1 million views in just two weeks. As an ode to wandering spirits, this soul-stirring music invites listeners on a transforming journey of self-discovery and purpose.

"Baanwre" is a musical masterpiece that digs deeply into the feelings of doubt, camaraderie, and self-discovery. The core of the song is the term "Baanwre," which means "free-spirited soul" in Hindi. The lyrics beautifully encapsulate the idea of waking up each day with an intrinsic desire to explore the world, mimicking a bird's flight over an open sky free of predetermined destinations.

The song skillfully constructs a tale that depicts the difficulties of self-discovery, emphasising the difficulties and doubts encountered along the way. "Baanwre" depicts the strength of companionship in the middle of life's enormous possibilities, emphasising shared experiences as a guiding light through life's decisions.

Shilpa Rao, a well-known Bollywood musician, gives her expressive vocals to "Baanwre," which is complemented by a compelling melody that resonates with listeners. Rao's influence on the music business is evident, with chart-topping singles including "Khuda Jaane," "Malang," and "Bulleya." Her work with prominent composers such as A.R. Rahman and Pritam has cemented her place in the music industry.

As per Mr Tarun Garg, Chief Operating Officer - Hyundai Motor India, “We launched Hyundai Spotlight Season 1 with the endeavor to connect & engage with the vibrant youngsters across the country. The objective was also to give the emerging music artists in India an opportunity to showcase their talent to the nation. We are elated to notice the love that Hyundai Spotlight has been receiving. In fact, the reactions on social media have been overwhelming for all of us at Hyundai. Season 2 of Hyundai Spotlight has already begun on a melodious note, with the first song ‘Jhoome Re’ by Benny Dayal and Aanchal Tyagi, resonating with 14 million + viewers on Hyundai Spotlight’s YouTube channel. The second song as a part of Season 2, ‘Baanwre’ features renowned artist Shilpa Rao collaborating with ‘F-Kaze’, a rising sensation, to create a soulful jugal-bandi that tugs at the heartstrings of listeners. As we move forward with Season 2 of Hyundai Spotlight, we hope to foster a harmonious spirit that celebrates the power of music.”

Preeti Nayyar VP of New Business and Brand Partnerships, UMG India and South Asia adds, “Collaborating with Hyundai for Hyundai Spotlight has always been delightful. After the brilliant success of Hyundai Spotlight season 1, we were even more thrilled to work towards season 2. Our hearts fill with immense joy as our second release this season 'Baanware' by Shilpa Rao has already started making waves amongst music lovers. The way people showered love on ‘Jhoome Re’ by Benny Dayal & Aanchal Tyagi, we were pretty sure 'Baanware' would also be able to make space in everyone's heart.”

Shilpa Rao expresses, "This song holds a special place in my heart as it beautifully encapsulates the journey of discovering oneself in the midst of life's uncertainties. 'Baanwre' is an ode to the free-spirited souls who wander through life, finding their way through challenges and companionship. My heart fills with immense joy as this song has been loved by the listeners reminding them of the beauty that emerges from embracing the unknown."

F Kaze, the creative mind behind the song, shares, "This song is a heartfelt tribute to those wandering souls in search of their purpose. 'Baanwre' encapsulates the journey of finding beauty in life's uncertainties. Like a free-spirited bird, these souls navigate the open sky of life, discovering destinations amidst challenges. All thanks to Hyundai Spotlight for giving me the opportunity and Shilpa Rao, who's an amazing singer. I enjoyed working with her on this song."

Duncan Laurence, a Dutch singer-songwriter and Eurovision Song Contest winner has released his new tune Rest In Peace today. Rest In Peace is the follow-up to Laurence's first two songs, Electric Life and Skyboy, off his upcoming album Skyboy.

“Rest in Peace is a song about giving someone, who’s breaking your heart by walking in and out of your life, a simple ultimatum: Love me or let me rest in peace” Laurence explains, “I was a ghost, a prisoner in the home we built together. Came and went as you pleased. It slowly broke my heart. So I made a simple ultimatum: love me or set me free. Love me... or let me rest in peace”

Duncan Laurence wrote Rest In Peace with his husband, songwriter Jordan Garfield, as well as Stephen Wrabel, Eric Lévi, and Sam de Jong.

Duncan Laurence only recently published his song Anything to commemorate his wedding to Jordan earlier this month in Stockholm.

Along with the release of Rest In Peace today, Duncan also announced the revised release date for his sophomore album, Skyboy, which will be released via Universal Music on Friday, September 22nd. The album is currently available for pre-order and pre-save.

Laurence won the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 with Arcade, which has subsequently accumulated over 20 billion global streams. The song debuted at the top of Spotify's Global Viral chart and quickly became viral on TikTok, where it has over 80 billion views. "Arcade" has Gold/Platinum certifications in 37 countries, including Platinum in the United States.

Duncan recently worked with singer/songwriter/producer Rosa Linn on "WDIA (Would Do It Again)," which Billboard Magazine described as "an old-school post-breakup duet showcasing the singers' vocal skills," as well as Rest In Peace co-writer (Stephen) Wrabel on his tune "back to back."
