The palace's main hall, known as Geunjeongjeon, is a historically significant venue in South Korea, having been established in 1395 and utilised for key state occasions such as royal coronations and banquets throughout the Joseon dynasty.

The majestic architecture of the hall, which includes a curved roof and a central throne, reflects the dynasty's authority and dignity, and will be a spectacular setting for Gucci's fashion presentation.

Gucci built its first store in Seoul in 1998 and is now commemorating its 25th year in the city. The choice to stage the event in Seoul emphasises the significance of the South Korean market for premium goods. The country has emerged as one of the most important marketplaces for luxury goods, drawing an increasing number of rich individuals willing to purchase high-end apparel and accessories.

Following the departure of Alessandro Michele last year, Gucci's cruise collection is designed by its in-house creative team. Sabato De Sarno, Gucci's newly appointed creative director, will debut his first collection for the premium label during Milan Fashion Week in September.
