The screenplay and story are written by Niranjan Iyengar and Purva Naresh. The music album features lyrics by Rashmi Virag Mishra, Mithoon, Azeem Shirazi, Sanju Rathod, Vivek Verma and Geet Sagar, with music composed by Mithoon, Sanju Rathod, Vivek Verma, Krish, Uddipan Sharma and Arjuna Harjai. Prem Keetanu Review: Veer Pahariya Brings Youthful Chaos, Romance and College Nostalgia to the Big Screen

There is something instantly familiar about Prem Keetanu. It is young, messy, romantic and unapologetically rooted in the kind of friendships, crushes and heartbreaks that define college life.

Prem Keetanu is Directed by Apoorv Singh Karki, the upcoming romantic comedy stars Veer Pahariya alongside debutant Aafiya Sayed, with Aparshakti Khurana, Rakesh Bedi and Nikhil Vijay adding to the ensemble. The film is scheduled for theatrical release on October 2, 2026.

From what the makers have revealed so far, Prem Keetanu appears to be aiming for a light-hearted coming-of-age experience rather than a conventional glossy romance. Veer Pahariya plays a college youngster caught between friendship, attraction, rivalry and the emotional confusion that comes with first love.

The film's strongest early impression comes from its youthful atmosphere. ‘Undi Bundi’ throws the audience straight into hostel madness, friendship and carefree college energy, while ‘Kaho Toh’ shifts the mood towards romance. The latter, sung by Armaan Malik with a Qawwali portion by Altamash Faridi, brings a more melodic and old-school romantic flavour to the soundtrack. The recently released ‘Tu Mera Raiyyo’ adds another romantic layer, while ‘Ishq Ka Ghulaam’, featuring B Praak and Sukriti Kakar, moves towards the heartbreak side of the story. Together, the songs suggest that music will be an important part of the film's emotional world. Veer Pahariya gets the central responsibility of carrying this youthful world. His character seems designed around the familiar Bollywood college-boy template restless, romantic, occasionally foolish and constantly caught between what he wants and what life throws at him. The real test will be whether the performance can turn that familiar archetype into a character audiences genuinely connect with.

Aafiya Sayed, making her debut opposite Veer, becomes another point of curiosity. The promotional material positions their relationship as one that gradually develops from friendship towards romance, giving the film an opportunity to build chemistry rather than rush into a conventional love story.

Interestingly, Prem Keetanu is officially adapted from the 2024 Malayalam romantic comedy Premalu. That gives the Hindi version an established narrative foundation, while the challenge lies in giving its characters, humour and cultural setting a distinct identity for Hindi-speaking audiences.

Based on the material released so far, Prem Keetanu looks less interested in reinventing the campus-romance genre and more interested in making it feel energetic, musical and contemporary. Its biggest attraction could be its combination of friendship, first love, comic chaos and nostalgia. But the real verdict will have to wait for October 2, when the complete film arrives in cinemas. Vineet Kumar Singh Reportedly Joins Akshay Kumar’s "Samuk" in Key Role

Akshay Kumar and Vipul Amrutlal Shah’s ambitious sci-fi survival-action thriller Samuk is adding another intense performer to its ensemble, with Vineet Kumar Singh reportedly coming on board the Kanishk Varma directorial.

According to sources close to the project, the Mukkabaaz actor is said to be playing a pivotal role in the film. While the makers have maintained strict secrecy around the characters and storyline, Singh’s reported casting adds an actor known for his physicality, intensity and ability to disappear into demanding roles.

“Vineet has a certain rawness and physicality and the director felt he was the perfect choice for this character,” a source reveals. “His presence brings a different energy to the ensemble, and the part requires an actor who can bring intensity without overplaying it.”

Sources further suggest that Singh’s character will join Akshay Kumar on a major mission and share one of the strongest relationships in the narrative. If the casting report holds, his role could prove significant to the emotional and action-driven core of Samuk.

The casting approach itself appears to be driven by the film’s unusual genre world. Rather than relying solely on conventional choices, the makers are reportedly assembling performers who can bring individuality and credibility to a story combining science fiction, survival, action and horror.

Vineet Kumar Singh has established himself as a performer capable of bringing considerable physical and emotional weight to his characters. His performances in Gangs of Wasseypur and Anurag Kashyap’s Mukkabaaz helped establish his reputation, while subsequent appearances in films including Gold, Saand Ki Aankh, Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl, Jaat and Chhaava have taken him across different genres.

Produced by Vipul Amrutlal Shah under Sunshine Pictures and co-produced by Aashin A. Shah, Samuk also marks the reunion of Akshay Kumar and Shah after 13 years. Directed by Kanishk Varma, the film has reportedly been in development for more than two years and is currently being shot in London.

Positioned as a large-scale theatrical genre film, Samuk is expected to combine a science-fiction premise with survival, visceral action and horror elements. With the makers continuing to keep the central plot and character details under wraps, the growing cast has become one of the film’s biggest talking points.

The film is expected to arrive in theatres in 2027.

For now, however, one mystery remains firmly locked away: who exactly is Vineet Kumar Singh playing in Samuk? Until the makers officially reveal the character, audiences will have to wait for that answer.
