The American brand’s return will be marked with an “experiential runway” event, unveiling its latest ‘See Now, Buy Now’ autumn 2022 collection, through which shoppers can purchase both physical and digital items.

Taking place September 11 at Brooklyn’s Skyline Drive-In, the interactive experience draws inspiration from New York’s creative scene and brings together the physical world with the metaverse, an area the brand has increasingly been exploring.

Additionally, the runway event will be live-streamed into open-world platform Roblox, which it has partnered with since December 2021, where in-game avatars will also sport digital iterations of its collection in a virtual New York setting.

In a release, the brand’s creative director Tommy Hilfiger said New York was where his heart immediately went in the decision to return to fashion week.

“This is where fashion, art, music and entertainment was all coming together when I first started out in the industry. And today, it is still this approach that inspires me to engage with the cutting edge communities building new creative experiences,” he said.

Hilfiger went on to add that the upcoming season will see a collision of his favorite archical inspirations with new live event concepts and virtual worlds, noting: “It’s the perfect expression of what we stand for as we pay homage to our roots with a return to NYFW.”

The all-black ‘Coco Capitán x Charles & Keith’ collection aims to offer wearable art in the form of a pair of loafers and a handbag, which explore the complex emotions that prose can evoke in fashion while celebrating individuality.

The androgynous and structured silhouettes of the Perline Penny Loafers and Double Handle Sculptural Tote Bag serve as the canvas for Coco Capitán’s art, which features the artist’s handwritten signature script.

Taking inspiration from the childlike innocence of the game ‘He loves me, he loves me not,’ Coco Capitán has embroidered blue daisies alongside her handwritten prose, ‘Loves Me Blue, Love Me Blue Not’ on the loafers, while the tote bag holds a hopeful tale of a solitary blue flower blooming through concrete.

Artist Coco Capitán teams up with Charles & Keith on a footwear and bag capsule collection

Each piece has been designed with deliberate and uneven stitching to offer a sense of “spontaneity and intimacy of a personalised piece,” adds Charles & Keith, as it looks to make every bag and shoe feel specially created for the wearer.

Commenting on the inspiration for the collection, Coco Capitán, said in a statement: “My art is inspired by overheard conversations, diary entries, and sudden waves of introspection. I believe that words can transcend cultures and give us a glimmer of hope for brighter times.”

Fredie Stevens, design director at Charles & Keith, added: “Charles & Keith is once again excited to be a catalyst in promoting creativity, tapping into the minds of globally acclaimed artists to create limited edition and unique pieces featuring their artwork – something we’ve never previously explored.

“Our team worked closely with Capitán to create this capsule collection that reflects her cool-girl attitude. These pieces, paired with her poignant prose, are perfect collector’s items for art lovers and the fashion forward crowd.”

The ‘Coco Capitán x Charles & Keith’ Perline Penny Loafers retail for 89 pounds and the Double Handle Sculptural Tote Bag is 69 pounds.

Washington [US], June 18: Kim Kardashian stirred the Internet when she donned Marilyn Monroe's iconic dress to the 2022 Met Gala, but apparently, it's been claimed that she did not cause any damage to the gown.

This contracted prior claims of Kardashian damaging the iconic dress.

A recent photo was seen floating around social media, which allegedly showed the dress before and after Kim Kardashian wooed the world with her appearance at the glamourous event. However, a rep for Ripley's 'Believe It or Not!', who bought the dress for USD 4.8 million in 2016, has come to Kim's defence, as per reports from TMZ

The representative told TMZ that since the purchase of the dress, Ripley's has displayed it around the world; a process that has also put the iconic dress at risk for potential damage. Amanda Joiner, Ripley's Vice President of Publishing and Licensing, who was with Kim and the dress the entire day of The Met, said, "From the bottom of the Met steps, where Kim got into the dress, to the top where it was returned, the dress was in the same condition it started in."

The dress is exactly what Marilyn wore when she sang on President John F. Kennedy's birthday in 1962. Kardashian had lost 16 pounds to fit the piece after Ripley first refused its permission. Kim was also gifted with Monroe's hair.

One of the reports accused her of damaging the dress, also stated that her hair was fake. This claim has also been debunked, as per TMZ.

Kim had already received quite some flak for the alleged damage to Marilyn Monroe's dress, but this statement from Ripley's comes at a time when the 'Keeping Up With Kardashians' star might just prove the doubters wrong.
