Bradley Cooper undergoes complete transformation as Bernstein in 'Maestro'

Washington [US], May 31: Netflix has dropped the first look images of Hollywood star Bradley Cooper's transformation for the upcoming biographical drama 'Maestro', the actor's directorial follow-up to Oscar winner 'A Star Is Born'.

According to Variety, in 'Maestro' Cooper is portraying the role of esteemed Broadway composer Leonard Bernstein, with Carey Mulligan playing Bernstein's wife Felicia Montealegre. Netflix released the set photos from the movie which show Bernstein at various ages, with impressive make-up work applied to Cooper in order to nail his look as an elderly Bernstein.

As per Variety, Steven Spielberg was originally attached to direct a Bernstein biographical drama and recruited Cooper to star in it. At the time, Cooper was coming off 'A Star Is Born' and was more interested in writing and directing movies than taking on an acting role for someone else, even Spielberg. Moviegoers shouldn't expect to see the film released until 2023.

MIFF Campus: Mighty Little Bheem: I love Taj Mahal, India’s first Netflix original animation series has made a mark across the globe by breaking all records. More than 27 million households have watched the series outside India, said creative director of the film at its world premiere in the 17th Mumbai International Film Festival (MIFF) today. He said, it is the most watched video on the official Netflix kids and family You Tube channel.

Mighty Little Bheem: I love Taj Mahal, India’s first Netflix original animation series was screened free today for children, who have become part of the festival for the first time both in physical and online mode.

Addressing a masterclass on ‘Animating in India for the World’ at the screening, Shri Chintapatla said, “India has a great culture and heritage. We have used the famous Taj Mahal and other unique aspects in this animation series which showcases the richness of our culture and content. The film itself represents a perfect case for animating in India for the world.”

“A good story presented in a unique manner always captures the audience. As the film is primarily meant for the toddlers, the team has sensibly made it, considering several psychological and behavioural aspects,” added Tirthadip Ghosh, production designer of the film.

The master class is an elaboration on the creation process of the widely loved and appreciated animated series created by Hyderabad based animation company Green Gold Animation Pvt. Ltd.


Shahid Kapoor's 'Jersey' gets OTT release date

Mumbai [India], May 18: After Shahid Kapoor-starrer 'Jersey' turned out to be a disappointing affair at the box office, the makers are now all set to release the film on Netflix on May 20.

Sharing the update, the Netflix team, on Tuesday, took to Instagram and wrote, "This one is about to knock it out of the stadium. JERSEY ARRIVES ON NETFLIX ON 20TH MAY."

Helmed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, 'Jersey' revolves around Arjun (played by Shahid), a failed cricketer who decides to fulfil his dream of representing Team India for happiness of his son. Mrunal Thakur and Pankaj Kapur are also a part of the film, which is the Hindi remake of the Telugu film of the same name. The new version fell way short of expectations in terms of box office returns despite a positive word of mouth.
