Crew of 'The Muppets Mayhem' series involved in accident while filming

Washington [US], July 4: An accident recently took place on the sets of Disney Plus's upcoming comedy series 'Muppet Mayhem' when a crew truck crashed into a tree on the edge of a cliff near Griffith Observatory.

According to Deadline, the incident happened on late Friday night around 11:30 PM and no one was hurt. However, the time of the accident raises Hollywood's decades-long issue of long hours on set.

Sources suggest 'Muppet Mayhem' has been filming for a few weeks consisting of long days. Location shoots are permitted by Film LA, which is a non-profit agency that is supposed to be notified of all incidents that occur during exterior production on city streets or venues such as Griffith Park. Developed and written by 'The Goldbergs' creator Adam F. Goldberg, Muppets veteran Bill Barretta, and Jeff Yorkes, the series follows The Electric Mayhem Band as they go on an epic musical journey to finally record their first studio album.

Nora (Lilly Singh), a driven junior A&R executive, is tasked with managing and wrangling the mayhem that is The Electric Mayhem Band. With her help, the old-school Muppet band comes face to face with the current-day music scene as they try to go platinum.

As per Deadline, 'Muppet Mayhem' has been executive produced by Goldberg, Barretta, Michael Bostick and Kris Eber with Yorkes as an executive producer. The Muppets Studio's David Lightbody and Leigh Slaughter are also executive producers.


'Deadpool 3' writers share experience of working with Disney

Washington [US], June 06: The writers of the upcoming 'Deadpool' sequel have given an update about working with Disney for the new film stating that the franchise will remain as irreverent as ever.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, who have writing credits on the first two 'Deadpool films' and are working on 'Deadpool 3' for director Shawn Levy, told an entertainment outlet that joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe will not change the overall feel that fans loved about the previous movies. Speaking about the franchise, Reese said, "It's a thrill. It's an absolute thrill to have the band back together, to have a new backdrop in the MCU with new characters, new villains, that kind of thing.

You know, it's never a marriage we necessarily saw coming -- Fox and Disney that was an external thing [separate] from our storytelling process. But we're absolutely finding the serendipity and the gold in that situation, or we're trying to." Wernick added, "Deadpool is gonna be Deadpool," which led Reese to confirm that fans need not worry about the studio trying to make the tone more family-friendly for the new film. As for whether the screenwriters started fresh or will incorporate aspects of a previous draft written by Wendy Molyneux and Lizzie Molyneux-Logelin, Reese said, "We have an answer." He then continued, "But we're really not supposed to divulge any plot details."

The Hollywood Reporter reported, that Reese also joked that the writing pair, who wrote Netflix's upcoming 'Spiderhead' starring Chris Hemsworth, has been holed away in a "secret vault under an ocean somewhere" to work on the 'Deadpool' script. The upcoming 'Deadpool 3' will be the first since Disney acquired 20th Century Fox, which released 'Deadpool' (2016) and its sequel in 2018.

Following the acquisition, there had been doubts about whether Disney would seek to maintain its family-friendly image, which is far from what 'Deadpool' films usually are, however, Disney's then-chairman and CEO Bob Iger had diminished those concerns in 2019, as per Variety.

Washington [US], May 23: Hollywood actor and filmmaker Olivia Wilde celebrated the release of her boyfriend Harry Styles' new album 'Harry's House' by posting a social media video dedicated to him.

According to E! News, Wilde took to her Instagram handle and posted a Story which featured a short video from the 2018 Polish film 'Cold War' set to the tune of Harry's new song 'Music For A Sushi Restaurant'. For the caption, Olivia simply shared a hands up emoji. The clip showed a woman tiredly standing at the bar of a busy restaurant before she begins dancing along to Harry's funky, feel-good hit. Back in January 2021, Harry and Olivia had first confirmed their romance, four months after it was revealed that the 'Watermelon Sugar' singer had been cast in her film 'Don't Worry Darling', as per E! News.
