'Queen Of The World India 2022' to be held in Mumbai on October 20, 2022!

Mumbai [India], October 9: After putting up a spectacular and successful show in 2021, the one-of-its-kind beauty pageant 'Queen Of The World (QOTW) India 2022' is back with its new edition to be scheduled in Mumbai on October 20, 2022.

QOTW is a platform to redefine the beauty pageant industry, as its motto is to create an inclusive and diverse leadership program for the modern women of today, regardless of their age, marital status, and background. The QOTW India celebrates glamour, confidence, and beauty and provides each contestant with the very best experience for personal growth. It is their diverse environment and inclusive culture which makes them very unique.

This year, QOTW welcomes women from 18 to 50 plus to join the amazing world of pageantry and get once in a lifetime opportunity to represent our Indian culture on an international stage. The pageant this year is scheduled between 15-20th October featuring 60 participants from across the country and the age group from 18-65 will be participating, who was selected by the auditions held in Mumbai, Delhi, and the South and East zone.

The semi-final is happening in Pune starting from October 15-19th. This year, the QOTW pageant 2022 will witness Karishma Kapoor as the guest of honour for the grand finale, scheduled on October 20, alongside a few other renowned Bollywood celebrities. Urmimala Boruah - CEO and National Director of Queen of the World India says, "This platform is a dream come true to create a tribe of women that celebrates beauty in all forms and inspires women to be limitless and discover the queen that lies within each one of us. It will be the national finale for the year 2022 and the winners of the pageant will then represent India at the QOTW pageant to be held in the United States of America in March 2023."

"This year, we have mentors like Dr Mickey Mehta, who have groomed and trained former beauty queens including Sushmita Sen, Lara Dutta, Priyanka Chopra and Dia Mirza and Anjali and Alisha Raut from Cocoberry and Abhinav Mathur along with Sakshi Lalwani, Shagun Mehndiratta and Dimple Kapoor to train our contestants during the final week. Right from the ramp walk, speech to voice modulation, to styling and photoshoot, everything will be taken care of by these mentors," Urmimala adds.

With the World as its Context Stockholm Fashion Week SS23 Takes Shape

Cornerstones of Sweden's character as a country have historically been humanitarianism, solidarity, and a sense of shared responsibility. Although these may seem a rarity in today's discourse, the Swedish Fashion Association continues to embrace these values in its curation of Stockholm Fashion Week which is set for 31st of August through 2nd of September. We build and maintain a platform with the intent of showcasing a range of Swedish talent, creativity, and commitment to people as well as the environment today and in the future. Beyond Swedish brands, there will be panel discussions with EU parliamentarians, VR shows, as well as fashion shows by designers from Ukraine.

We are proud to announce yet another week where tomorrow's fashion brands and designers get to showcase their work and what they stand for. This year, Stockholm Fashion Week is set in motion by the Swedish School of Textiles that is producing a show with just about 30 graduating students at Stadsgårdsterminalen, which this year acts as a hub for shows, exhibitions and performances for audiences to enjoy. This year also for the public. A late edition to the schedule is Ellen Elias with EllenXStudio, who along with an ensemble of talented creatives is producing a fashion show and performance at ArkDes Tuesday eve.

Louise Xin Couture, as Scandinavias first for-rent only fashion brand, will Wednesday afternoon host a fashion show along with WAY gallery where guests are asked to dress in all white as she presents her latest collection. Louise is also known for her award winning work as an activist regarding human rights and the environment. The show will be broadcasted on screens across 6 European countries and a variety of city centers.

Beyond producing a runway show, Louise Xin and the Swedish Fashion Association make way for the humanitarian efforts during the Friday with a panel consisting of EU parliamentarian Raphaël Glucksmann, along with activist, writer, and daughter to her father who is now in-prisoned in Chinese Uyghur concentration camps, Jewher Ilham. Jewher Ilham and Raphaël Glucksmann are accompanied by industry expert Cay Bond, as well as actor and champion for sustainable fashion, Alicia Agneson. The panel will be discussing human rights and other related issues to textile and fashion worldwide that need to be resolved if the industry is to continue existing.

Sustainability in different forms this year is a hygiene factor that all brands of size need to have clearly expressed their focus regarding how to tackle in order to be part of the schedule. With that in mind, Stockholm Fashion District will, on the Wednesday, be hosting their annual Encouragement for Action Award at Nobis Hotel in Stockholm. This thread is continued into Thursday with STYLES and Sellpy producing a fashion show made up in its entirety of pre-loved fashion at Fotografiska. Directly following this will be Imaskopis event at Stadsgårdsterminalen only a minutes walk away where Nelly Skog will be showing off her knitted collections.

Thursday morning, Brixtol Textiles will host a breakfast presentation and rebranding event at Liljevalchs, one of Stockholms larger art centres. To round of this evening, audiences have three opportunities to enjoy Swedish creativity. By STHLM Misc at Stadsgårdsterminalen, an exhibition that turns to a musical performance, that then turns into a fashion show. By The Forumist, an event at Hallwylska filled with exhibitions and performances by Swedish designers and artists. And returning to Stockholm, J. Lindeberg with their major event hosted at Space Stockholm for their upcoming collections.

Stockholm Fashion Week sets its sight to the future come Friday with a variety of events at Blique by Nobis. Placebo Digital Fashion House will be hosting a show for their ready-to-wear collection completely in VR as well as letting us in on the opportunities of digital fashion for both the digital and physical world. Following this will be five Ukrainian brands who we are proud to host during Stockholm Fashion Week; Alona Cini, Leko, Limarenko, Pitaya, and Purpure Queen. As their own platform is threatened by circumstance, we are happy to give them a chance at presenting their work in Sweden.

1700 km 'Chain Reaction' Cyclothon India gate to Mumbai to promote nuclear energy

Mumbai [India], August 23 (ATK): Senior scientists of Bhabha Atomic Research Center (BARC) cycled for 1700 km starting from India Gate in Delhi on August 13, 2022. The campaign was to spread awareness about nuclear energy as clean, green and safe energy resource. The Cyclothon crisscrossed five states - Delhi, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Maharashtra and concluded at the iconic Gateway of India today on August 23, 2022.

On the way, the cyclists met the vibrant mix of people and spread awareness about the uses of Atomic Energy in nation building. They interacted with several organisations including police and hospitals and made the audience aware about several societal and healthcare technologies developed by the Department of Atomic Energy.

The team received an overwhelming welcome with top nuclear scientists in the city cycled with the team showing their solidarity for the cause and message of atomic energy. K. N. Vyas, Chairman, AEC and Secretary, DAE; Dr A. K. Mohanty, Director, BARC; B. C. Pathak, CMD, NPCIL; and B. K. Jain, Director, DCSEM accompanied by the senior officials of the DAE family pedal alongside the cyclists to the #GatewayOfIndia.

Speaking on the occasion, K. N. Vyas, Chairman, AEC and Secretary, DAE appreciated the wholehearted efforts put in by the cyclists in completing the 1700 km Cyclothon. He added that the event was a first-of-its-kind science outreach effort in DAE of such a scale wherein senior scientists of BARC have cycled from India Gate Delhi to gateway of India Mumbai for 11 days. He said the name Chain Reaction was an apt choice as the word 'chain' finds usage in both nuclear and cycling parlances and as also the campaign encouraged people to spread the message of clean and green nuclear energy. He further added that the event was orgasnied as a part of the ongoing Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations and is also a part of 'DAE Iconic Week' which is being celebrated from August 22 to 28, 2022.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr A. K. Mohanty, Director, BARC congratulated the Cyclothon team and expressed satisfaction over the successful completion of the planned journey. He informed that BARC is organising several functions under the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations with the focal theme of engaging people and making them aware of advanced technology by the way of exhibitions, popular science interactive sessions and contests. He further added that this unique concept of using the language of sports for science communication will help further the message of clean and green nuclear energy among masses.

The DAE Delhi Mumbai Cyclothon concluded on August 23, 2022 at the Gateway of India, Mumbai. It was flagged-off at the iconic India Gate New Delhi on August 13, 2022. During this period, scientific cyclists covered a distance of 1700 km. and reached Mumbai via five DAE units - RAPS Rawatbhata, Heavy Water Plant Kota, RRCAT Indore, KAPS Kakrapar, and TAPS Tarapur.

What makes it Special The uniqueness of this Cyclothon is that the team of cyclists comprises senior scientists of Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) who engaged with public to spread awareness about the nuclear energy as the clean, green and safe source of electricity and encouraged them to spread the word. The campaign is named as Chain Reaction, inspired from elemental parts of both the nuclear reaction and the bicycle mechanism. The campaign has been curated with special emphasis on reaching out to the students, the younger stakeholders of science, in whose hands the future of the country will shape up in years to come.

The theme of the event is "Nuclear energy, like cycling, is cleanest, greenest and safest - stay for, smile and spread the word"

The team of cyclists, in a freewheeling discussion with our correspondent, drew attention to the fact nuclear reactor and bicycle are similar in terms of being clean, green and safe and both are inevitable options to counter the challenges of climate change. The Department of Atomic Energy (DAE) is under the direct charge of the Prime Minister and has been engaged in the development of nuclear power technology, applications of radiation technologies in the fields of agriculture, medicine, industry and basic research.

The Department comprises 6 R&D Centres, 5 PSUs, 3 Industrial and 3 Service organisations under its folds. It has under its aegis two boards for promoting and funding extra-mural research in nuclear and allied fields, mathematics and a national institute (deemed university). It also supports ten institutes of international repute engaged in research in basic sciences, astronomy, astrophysics, cancer research and education. It also has in its fold an educational society.
