Indian cinema is no stranger to unconventional stories, but a film with a cat at the heart of its narrative is certainly a rarity. Max, Min & Meowzaki: Why Shooting a Film With a Cat Was a Unique Challenge for Samiksha Oswal

For Samiksha Oswal, however, bringing the unusual concept to life came with its own set of challenges. Speaking about the experience of shooting with a cat, the producer revealed that the filming process took considerably longer than a conventional production.

“Nobody has ever made a film with a cat. There are films featuring dogs, but it’s difficult to shoot with a cat,” Samiksha Oswal shared. Recalling some memorable moments from the set, she said the cat would often run away when the lights were being arranged, while at other times she would simply sleep, leaving the crew waiting patiently.

According to Samiksha, the additional time and patience required during the shoot were ultimately worth it. Despite the challenges, the team managed to create the film exactly as they had originally envisioned it.

The decision to build the story around a cat also came from a deeply personal connection with animals. Samiksha revealed that filmmaker and producer Shael Oswal is a passionate animal lover and has around a hundred stray dogs at his farmhouse. His love for animals made him particularly excited about exploring a story where a cat plays a central role.

Beyond its unusual protagonist, Max, Min & Meowzaki explores the small sacrifices people make in relationships, while addressing themes of loss, acceptance, hope and the courage to start over. The film's heartwarming trailer has already generated curiosity, offering audiences a glimpse into its emotionally rich and unconventional world.

The film features an impressive ensemble cast including Medha Shankr, Siddharth Menon, Adil Hussain, Mandira Bedi, Nasser, Nafisa Ali and Vidhatri Bandi. At its core, the film is a multigenerational emotional journey that explores how people learn to live with loss while finding new reasons to embrace life.

Max, Min & Meowzaki has already earned significant recognition on the international festival circuit. The film premiered at the Busan International Film Festival and was selected for the prestigious Best of Fest section at the Palm Springs International Film Festival. It has also received Audience Honours at festivals in Sonoma, San Francisco and Osaka, alongside Best Feature wins at Stuttgart, Cincinnati, Berlin's Indo-German Film Week and RIFFA in Canada.

Presented by Samiksha Oswal, the film is written and directed by Padmakumar Narasimhamurthy and produced by Shael Oswal and Samiksha Oswal under the banner of SSO Productions.

With its unusual premise, acclaimed cast and impressive international festival journey, Max, Min & Meowzaki is now set to bring its story of companionship, healing and hope to Indian audiences. The film is scheduled for an exclusive theatrical release on July 24.

Riccha Sinha Was the Original Choice Opposite Babil Khan for Sai Rajesh’s Baby: Report

While the actor is already sparking interest with her international project, the British psychological thriller Click, reports indicate that she was also an early casting choice for Sai Rajesh’s eagerly awaited film Baby.

Industry sources suggest that Riccha Sinha was initially considered as the leading lady opposite Babil Khan in Baby. The project eventually experienced a casting change, with Aaishvarya Thackeray taking on the role opposite Babil Khan. However, if the original plan had come to fruition, audiences would have seen Riccha and Babil as the film's main pair.

Interestingly, Baby is not the only high-profile project where Riccha Sinha was considered. The young actor was reportedly among the top contenders for Maddock Films' untitled project featuring Vedang Raina and Naomika Saran, further highlighting the growing interest in her within the industry.

Riccha's impressive screen presence, unique appeal, and emerging acting potential have caught the attention of filmmakers seeking fresh talent. Her international involvement with Click adds another exciting dimension to her burgeoning career. The British psychological thriller, also starring David Tucci, is expected to introduce Riccha to audiences beyond the Indian entertainment scene.

With multiple projects reportedly considering her and an international thriller enhancing her portfolio, Riccha Sinha appears to be steadily establishing her place among the next generation of young actors. As her upcoming work continues to generate interest, the industry will be watching closely to see which opportunities shape her on-screen journey.

Pooja Hegde Joins Thalapathy Vijay’s Jana Nayagan for One Last Theatrical Celebration, Sources Reveal

Sources close to the actress reveal that her deep respect and strong connection with Vijay motivated her to join the highly anticipated political thriller.

Although, the director Mr. H Vinoth has mentioned that Pooja Hegde has a limited amount of screen time, but sources suggest her role features several impactful scenes. It seems that the opportunity to be part of Vijay's final theatrical release, rather than the length of her appearance, made the project especially significant for her.

“Pooja has several crucial scenes. It was incredibly sweet of her to join Jana Nayagan as it marks Thalapathy Vijay’s last film before he fully dedicates himself to politics. She was eager and equally excited to make it memorable,” a source close to the actress shared.

The reunion also brings back the popular pairing of Vijay and Pooja Hegde, who previously appeared together in Beast. Their chemistry received considerable attention from audiences, and their return is expected to be one of the film's major highlights.

For Pooja Hegde, Jana Nayagan could also be a significant opportunity to strengthen her presence in Tamil cinema. With Vijay's massive fan base and the emotional significance of his final theatrical appearance, expectations for their reunion are already high.

Directed by H Vinoth, Jana Nayagan also features Bobby Deol and Mamitha Baiju in key roles. The film is set for a grand theatrical release on July 23, with audiences eagerly anticipating what could be a landmark moment in Thalapathy Vijay's career?
