Created in partnership with metaverse development studio Melon, the Cicaverse experience celebrates the retailer’s unisex sneaker style, the Cica.

“We’re super excited to bring our iconic brand offering to the metaverse as Clarks is passionate about empowering kids and teens to be the best that they can be,” said Clarks’ global chief marketing and digital officer, Tara McRae, in a release.

McRae continued: “Roblox is all about understanding and enhancing people’s shared experiences, which is what made this feel like such a natural place for us to have a presence in. The Cicaverse is the perfect way that allows our early learners to explore, create, to learn and to play in a dedicated community space that they can call their own.”

Through the platform, users can visit the Clarks Stadium, where they receive a virtual pair of the popular silhouette for an online sports tournament. Participants can take part in games, such as BMX stunts, parkour and breakdancing, with each activation designed with help from the real-life athletes who aided in the development of the shoe style.

Young athletes featured in the game include UK break-dancer B-Girl Terra, UK parkour champion Robbie Griffith and BMX rider Connor Stitt.

B-Girl Terra, the 15-year-old break-dancer who is set to compete at the upcoming 2024 Paris Olympics, said: “Roblox is a space me and my friends love to meet and have fun in, so to be able to create and have fun in, so to be able to create and see my own avatar in the Cicaverse wearing a sneaker that I love and had a hand in designing is just a dream come true.”

Winners of the games will receive a limited-edition gold Cica X Roblox medallion necklace that celebrates the brand’s heritage. The same necklace, in a limited number, will also be made in real life to be gifted worldwide, with further online games set to unlock this prize too.

Users will also be able to visit a virtual Clarks store, where they can purchase jumbo jet packs to sneakers with fire, all with the goal of helping their avatars stand out.

Clarks said there are more virtual experiences set to drop over the next year, including exclusive experiences and product drops for the Roblox universe.

Washington [US], May 05: Twitter's upcoming 'Edit' button has been in the works for quite some time now, but the latest development on the micro-blogging site is one which is highly anticipated.

While several people discovered the 'Edit Tweet' feature which has been in development for quite some time, it was unclear how the feature would appear to the users on Twitter. Speculations were also raised on how the edited tweet's original text could be read. According to reverse engineer Jane Manchun Wong, the 'Edit Tweet' button will allow users to create a new tweet with different content. But to make sure Twitter users know the tweet has been changed from the original, a label (alongside an icon of a small pen or pencil) will appear at the bottom of the tweet. The label's text will simply say 'Edited.' And if users click on the word 'Edited,' they'll be taken to the tweet's edit history, as reported by TechCrunch.

Users will be getting 30 minutes to edit their tweets, which is a bit longer than necessary to quickly edit a mistake. However, the 30-minutes duration is long enough to clarify or rephrase a tweet that could be igniting reactions or blow up and go viral for the wrong reasons.

Wong also said that the 'Edit Tweet' feature seems inefficient because it re-uploads the media (images, videos, GIFs, etc.) attached to the original tweet rather than reusing it. However, this might not be how the feature works further down the road in future.

Washington [US], May 07: The message reactions feature, which was announced last month by WhatsApp, will now be rolled out to its users.

According to GSM Arena, it will work similar to how Facebook's reactions work. The user needs to long-press on a WhatsApp message and select the emoji he or she wants to react with. Right now, users get to choose from six emoji, as shown by Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg in his Facebook post but WhatsApp has promised to add support for more emoji and skin tones in the future.

The message reactions feature is already available for some users on the latest version of WhatsApp, but it will be about a week or two before it reaches all WhatsApp users globally. In addition to reacting to messages with emoji, WhatsApp users can also share larger files now since WhatsApp has increased the file transfer size from 100 MB to 2 GB. Besides, WhatsApp has doubled the maximum number of participants allowed in a group chat, from 256 to 512 people. However, as per GSM Arena, the platform has said that it is "slowly rolling out the ability" to add up to 512 people to a group, so users will have to wait before you can add more than 256 members to a WhatsApp group.
