Washington (US), January 14,: Veteran actor Morgan Freeman has joined Nicole Kidman's upcoming Paramount+ series "Lioness," directed by Taylor Sheridan.

Along with Kidman, Zoe Saldana and Laysla De Oliveira serve as executive producers for the show.

Freeman will play US Secretary of State Edwin Mullins, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Saldana plays Joe, the Lioness program's station chief tasked with developing, supervising, and guiding her female undercover operatives.

Washington [US], January 3: An American actor has revealed the 'Batgirl' costume that would have appeared in the cancelled HBO Max film.

Swati Bhat

According to Deadline, an American entertainment news outlet, Grace shared some behind-the-scenes photos and clips from the filming of 'Batgirl' in an Instagram look back.

Grace would have played Batgirl in the now-cancelled film, which was set to premiere on HBO Max in 2023. According to Deadline, Warner Bros. and DC Films put it on hold permanently earlier this year. "Thank u for teachin' me, 2022. you were singular in many ways that will stay with me. My gratitude and love for life is much deeper thanks to the experiences you brought me. I take your lessons with me as we part," The post was captioned by Grace. Grace can be seen dressed up in what appears to be her trailer in the video.

The use of yellow in the costume is reminiscent of Michael Keaton's iconic Batman suit from the 1989 film 'Batman' and its sequel 'Batman Returns'.

Keaton would have played the same role in 'Batgirl' again.

As previously reported by Deadline, the exact reason for the shelving was not disclosed, but according to sources, the film did not align with the new strategy being implemented by DC Films and HBO Max.

Washington [US], December 24: Former US President Barack Obama has continued his end-of-year tradition by revealing his favourite movies of the year 2022, and surprisingly, James Cameron's latest 'Avatar: The Way of Water' is not on the list.

Because of his hectic schedule, Obama may have missed Cameron's visual effects marvel. Furthermore, because the film is best seen on larger screens and such show times have been sold out, it could pose a security risk for the former president.

Another high-quality blockbuster missing from the film list, according to Deadline, is 'Wakanda Forever,' despite the fact that the original 'Black Panther' made his 2018 list.

However, the one blockbuster that did make the cut this year was the Tom Cruise starrer 'Top Gun: Maverick'. Obama had even asked for comments about movies he missed. In a tweet shared on his official handle, he wrote, "I saw some great movies this year - here are some of my favorites. What did I miss?"

Steven Spielberg's "The Fabelmans," Chinonye Chukwu's "Till," and Todd Field's "Tar" are among the other prestigious movies in the top 17 list. 'Emancipation' by Antione Fuqua was also left off the list.
