Barack Obama continues with annual tradition, James Cameron's 'Avatar 2' misses the list

Washington [US], December 24: Former US President Barack Obama has continued his end-of-year tradition by revealing his favourite movies of the year 2022, and surprisingly, James Cameron's latest 'Avatar: The Way of Water' is not on the list.

Because of his hectic schedule, Obama may have missed Cameron's visual effects marvel. Furthermore, because the film is best seen on larger screens and such show times have been sold out, it could pose a security risk for the former president.

Another high-quality blockbuster missing from the film list, according to Deadline, is 'Wakanda Forever,' despite the fact that the original 'Black Panther' made his 2018 list.

However, the one blockbuster that did make the cut this year was the Tom Cruise starrer 'Top Gun: Maverick'. Obama had even asked for comments about movies he missed. In a tweet shared on his official handle, he wrote, "I saw some great movies this year - here are some of my favorites. What did I miss?"

Steven Spielberg's "The Fabelmans," Chinonye Chukwu's "Till," and Todd Field's "Tar" are among the other prestigious movies in the top 17 list. 'Emancipation' by Antione Fuqua was also left off the list.

It's a wrap for Zoya Akhtar's directorial 'The Archies'

Mumbai [India], December 19: The shooting for Zoya Akhtar's directorial 'The Archies' has come to an end.

Announcing the wrap of 'The Archies', Zoya took to Instagram and wrote,"Archieeeeeessssss! Film Wrap. Best Crew. Best Cast. Only Gratitude."

The film is the Indian adaptation of the iconic comics 'The Archies' and will be released on OTT giant Netflix. Produced by Tiger Baby and Graphic India,

'The Archies' is a coming-of-age story that will introduce the teenagers of Riverdale to a new generation in India. 'The Archies' marks the acting debut of Shah Rukh Khan-Gauri Khan's daughter Suhana, Amitabh Bachchan's grandson Agastya Nanda and Sridevi-Boney Kapoor's daughter Khushi Kapoor. Yuvraj Menda and Agastya Nanda are also a part of the project. After wrapping up the film, Zoya also shared a string of images from the sets. The first image is of a clapboard, while the second image is a group photo featuring the entire cast and crew. In the third picture, we can see a cake with The Archies clapboard. In the fourth picture, Zoya, with Agastya, Suhana and others, can be seen cutting the cake.

Suhana reshared Zoya's post and captioned it, "It's a wrap."

Release date of the film has not been disclosed yet.

Sidharth Malhotra, Rashmika Mandanna's spy thriller 'Mission Majnu' teaser out now

Mumbai (Maharashtra), December 16: Makers of the upcoming spy thriller film 'Mission Majnu' on Friday, unveiled the official teaser.

Taking to Instagram, Sidharth shared the teaser, which he captioned, "Iss Majnu ke kaam karne ka tarika alag hai. Presenting the Official Teaser for MISSION MAJNU . Only on Netflix, 20th Jan, 2023."

Set in the 1970s, Mission Majnu is a patriotic thriller with a love story at its core, showcasing one of India's most covert operations of taking down Pakistan's efforts of a nuclear attack. The teaser showcases Sidharth as an undercover RAW agent in an intense avatar, with his life hanging on the line for the love of his life- India. Directed by Shantanu Bagchi and produced by RSVP and GBA, 'Mission Majnu' also stars Rashmika Mandanna in the lead role and is all set to premiere exclusively on the OTT platform Netflix from January 20, 2023.

The makers unveiled the teaser of its much-anticipated espionage thriller, Mission Majnu, at the iconic India Gate in the National Capital. Commenting on the teaser launch, Sidharth said, "It has been an absolute honour and pleasure to have launched the teaser of my film Mission Majnu at India Gate, with the real heroes of our country who sacrifice their lives everyday for the love towards their country. Meanwhile, Sidharth will also be seen in the upcoming action thriller film 'Yodha' opposite Disha Patani which is all set to hit the theatres on July 7, 2023. Apart from that, he also has an upcoming web series 'Indian Police Force' which will stream on the OTT platform Amazon Prime Video.
