Washington (US), January 14,: Veteran actor Morgan Freeman has joined Nicole Kidman's upcoming Paramount+ series "Lioness," directed by Taylor Sheridan.

Along with Kidman, Zoe Saldana and Laysla De Oliveira serve as executive producers for the show.

Freeman will play US Secretary of State Edwin Mullins, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Saldana plays Joe, the Lioness program's station chief tasked with developing, supervising, and guiding her female undercover operatives.

In the role of Kaitlyn Meade, the senior supervisor of the CIA, played by Kidman, she must "juggle the trappings of being a woman in the high-ranking intelligence agency." Meade has a long career of playing the political game. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the programme is based on a real-life CIA programme and centres on Cruz Manuelos (De Oliveira), a "rough-around-the-edges but enthusiastic young Marine recruited to join the CIA's Lioness Engagement Team to help bring down a terrorist organisation from within."

The cast of "Lioness" also includes Dave Annable, Jill Wagner, LaMonica Garrett, James Jordan, Austin Hebert, Jonah Wharton, Stephanie Nur, and Hannah Love Lanier. The show is produced by MTV Entertainment Studios and 101 Studios exclusively for Paramount+ and executive-produced by Sheridan, David C. Glasser, Saldana, Kidman, Ron Burkle, Bob Yari, David Hutkin, Jill Wagner, Geyer Kosinski, Michael Malone, and John Hillcoat.

Vijay appears in Vamshi Paidipally's Tamil-language action family drama "Varisu," which will be released on January 11th. Its Telugu-language dubbed version "Varasudu" will be released in India on January 14. Rashmika Mandanna, R. Sarathkumar, Prabhu, and Prakash Raj round out the heavyweight cast.

Also due a Jan. 11 release is H. Vinoth's Tamil-language action heist film "Thunivu," starring Ajith Kumar, which will also release in its Telugu-dubbed version "Thegimpu" on the same day. Manju Warrier and Samuthirakani also appear in the film.

Chiranjeevi stars in K.S. Ravindra's Telugu-language action comedy "Waltair Veerayya," which also stars Ravi Teja, Shruti Haasan, Rajendra Prasad, and Catherine Tresa. The film and its Hindi-language dub will be released on January 13, with previews beginning on January 12.

Nandamuri Balakrishna, Shruti Haasan, and Duniya Vijay star in Gopichand Malineni's Telugu-language action drama "Veera Simha Reddy," which is set to be released on January 12.

All of the films are produced by well-known industry figures. "Varisu" is produced by Dil Raju's Sri Venkateswara Creations ("Sarileru Neekevvaru") and Prasad V. Potluri's PVP Cinema ("Evaru"); "Thunivu" is produced by Zee Studios and Boney Kapoor's Bayview Projects ("Valimai"); and both Telugu titles are produced by Naveen Yerneni, Y.

Because there are so many big-ticket titles releasing at the same time, distributors have adopted a variety of promotional strategies. In the United Kingdom, for example, "Varisu" distributor Ahimsa Entertainment is running a digital advertising campaign in 75 London locations.

Lyca Productions, which is distributing "Thunivu" in the United Kingdom and Europe through Boleyn Cinemas, has a promotional van for the film touring London landmarks such as Big Ben and Tower Bridge.



Although singer Rihanna did not receive a Golden Globe nomination this year, her gesture in support of the RRR squad, who took home a significant victory at the international gala, earned her a lot of hearts.

The RRR song "Naatu Naatu" won the Golden Globe for Best Original Song on 10th January,2023.

Along with Carolina by Taylor Swift, Ciao Papa by Alexandre Desplat, Roeban Katz from Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio, Hold My Hand by Lady Gaga, BloodPop, and Benjamin Rice from Top Gun: Maverick, and Lift Me Up by Tems, Rihanna, Ryan Coogler, and Ludwig Goransson from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, the Indian song from SS Rajamouli's RRR was also nominated

As she passed the RRR table with her lover ASAP Rocky shortly after the team had won, Rihanna offered her congratulations.

The internet has been buzzing with a video of that specific moment. Rihanna turned to face director SS Rajamouli and the rest of the RRR crew while donning a black gown, velvet gloves, and a wrap shawl, congratulating them with a flying kiss.

"Naatu Naatu" was written by Kala Bhairava and Rahul Sipligunj with music by MM Keeravaani. The song has Ram Charan and Jr. NTR dancing heartily amidst British people in the music video.
