According to Variety, the third edition of the Red Sea Film Festival kicked off on Thursday with the world premiere of Dubai-based Iraqi director Yasir Al-Yasiri's fantasy 'HWJN' and a glitzy red carpet that included Will Smith, Sharon Stone, Baz Luhrmann, and a slew of Arabic stars in addition to Bollywood's heartthrob Ranveer Singh.
The opening ceremony, held in the auditorium of Jeddah's Ritz Carlton hotel, underlined this year's festival theme of "Your story, your festival," given that Jeddah is also the setting for "HWJN," the opener. The festival will come to an end on December 9. Returning to Ranveer, he is going to surprise audiences with a fantastic slate of flicks next year. In Rohit Shetty's cop drama 'Singham Again,' he will reprise his role as Simmba, with his wife Deepika Padukone, and actors Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, Tiger Shroff, and Kareena Kapoor Khan. Farhan Akhtar's 'Don 3' will also star Ranveer Singh.
While announcing the film, Farhan requested the audience to give the same love to Ranveer as they showered on previous Don installments. In 2006, Don was reimagined and brought to life by Shah Rukh Khan in his own irresistibly charming way."
