Indian cinema is all set to revisit some of its most celebrated stories as Vinod Chopra Films and NH Studioz have announced a long-term worldwide rights partnership aimed at bringing an iconic film legacy back to audiences across generations.

NH Studioz will manage and represent the expansive Vinod Chopra Films library across various channels, including theatrical releases, television, streaming platforms, FAST channels, and other non-theatrical formats. This partnership is a pivotal step towards preserving and rediscovering films that have significantly influenced modern Indian cinema's cultural landscape.
Adding to the importance of this development is the comprehensive restoration effort by Vinod Chopra Films. The production house has reportedly completed a five-year restoration project, upgrading its film catalog to 8K resolution with audio remastered in Dolby 5.1 surround sound. This restoration was conducted at Mumbai's Prasad Film Labs and, for select titles, at Bologna's esteemed L'Immagine Ritrovata.
The catalog showcases a diverse range of Indian storytelling, featuring renowned films like Parinda, 1942: A Love Story, Kareeb, Mission Kashmir, Munna Bhai M.B.B.S., Parineeta, Lage Raho Munna Bhai, Eklavya: The Royal Guard, 3 Idiots, Ferrari Ki Sawaari, Wazir, and Shikara, among others.
The partnership is anticipated to adopt a cinema-first approach for select titles, allowing audiences to enjoy these cherished films on the big screen in their restored versions before they become available on wider platforms. Reports estimate the long-term deal's value at over ₹150 crore, highlighting the increasing commercial and cultural significance of India's top film libraries.
