Remakes of Classic Bollywood films 'Bawarchi' 'Mili' & 'Koshish' are announced.Know about the makers

On Wednesday, official remakes of iconic Indian films 'Bawarchi,' 'Mili,' and 'Koshish' were unveiled.

The well-known trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared a post with a write-up, “OFFICIAL REMAKE OF TIMELESS CLASSICS ‘MILI’, ‘KOSHISH’ & ‘BAWARCHI’ ANNOUNCED… In a major development, #AnushreeMehta and #AbirSengupta [of Jaadugar Films] and #SameerRajSippy [of SRS Productions] will jointly produce the *official remake* of three iconic films: #Mili [1975], #Koshish [1972] and #Bawarchi [1972]. #Koshish [#SanjeevKumar - #JayaBachchan] was directed by #Gulzar, while #Bawarchi [#RajeshKhanna - #JayaBachchan] and #Mili [#AmitabhBachchan - #JayaBachchan] were directed by #HrishikeshMukherjee. #SameerRajSippy is the grandson of legendary producer #NCSippy [who produced the three classics] and son of veteran director #RajSippy, while #AnushreeMehta and #AbirSengupta had produced the spy-comedy #MrsUndercover. The cast and crew of these three films will be announced soon.”


JAADUGAR FILMS' Anushree Mehta and Abir Sengupta, along with SRS Productions' Sameer Raj Sippy, will produce the OFFICIAL HINDI remake of three timeless classics. All three films are considered masterworks of Indian cinema and are beloved by millions. Gulzar directed 'Koshish,' a heartfelt, poignant story, while Hrishikesh Mukherjee directed 'Bawarchi' and 'Mili,' both everlasting favorites. The filmmakers' distinct visions, relatable characters, and wholesome narrative left an indelible impression on generations of viewers. Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan, Rajesh Khanna, Sanjeev Kumar, and more legends gave career-best performances in these films.

Anushree Mehta and Abir Sengupta joint communiqué, “We are absolutely thrilled to be set upon this magical journey of making three of our all-time favorite movies in a new form and mold. It is a huge responsibility as Koshish, Bawarchi, and Mili are celebrated in India and across the globe which have been made by the legendary Gulzar Saab and Hrishi da who have set the standards of filmmaking for generations to come. These are the films we have grown up on and they are the stories that the new generation should also witness; to know our rich cinematic legacy. We endeavor to put our best to live up to the expectations, the responsibility and most importantly remake these films which will touch the audiences' hearts far and wide.”

"That's why I think it's time we take classic stories and bring them into today's scenario, with a newer and modern outlook." That's why I'm going back to see Bawarchi, Mili, and Koshish. Coming from a legendary family of filmmakers and being motivated by the family company, I now want to carry on the heritage that my grandpa, Shri N. C. Sippy, my uncle Romu Sippy, and my father, Raj Sippy, have established."
